Genesis Gardens - Growing Good from the Ground Up
Opening in late April 2026 on 1.5 acres along East Main Street in Vermillion, Genesis Gardens is more than a garden—it’s a place that fosters community and connection around growing fresh food, education, faith, and processing.
- Through our Kids Gardening education program, little ones will explore the wonders of planting, growing, and harvesting right in the heart of the garden.
- We connect people and families to food production through volunteer opportunity called "adopt a row" program.
- At the same time, our CSA-style subscription program will provide families with weekly boxes of just-picked vegetables and herbs, available for easy community pickup.
- Because we believe fresh food should be for everyone, under-resourced families can receive a weekly box at no cost throughout the growing season.
- Together, we’re cultivating more than vegetables—we’re cultivating joy, health, faith, and community while caring for God's creation.
Gardening for the soul
Gardening is good for the soul. It helps us slow down and become more aware. We get to watch things grow. Gardening is fun and can bring peace and joy that has shown to cultivate harmony, wholeness, better health, relaxation, and overall sense wellness. The Bible is full of stories about gardens. Obviously our Creator loves gardens and so do we.
Education
We are seeking volunteers of all ages and backgrounds to join us in managing 1.5 acres of fresh, healthy food for our community while inspiring the next generation through hands-on Gardening Education programming open to all children and families in the community. Sign up to volunteer.
